Akmerkez was Sie wissen sollten.
Akmerkez opened on 18 December 1993 in Etiler as Turkey's third modern shopping mall after Galleria Ataköy and Capitol. Designed around a striking triangular plan with three office and residential towers of 14, 17 and 24 floors, it covers a 180,000 m² complex with 35,000 m² of leasable retail across four levels. Developed by Akkök, Tekfen and İstikbal, it remains a flagship Istanbul project and was famously named 'Best Shopping Center in the World' by ICSC in 1995–1996. A €20 million renovation in 2013–2014 refreshed the interiors and atriums.
Akmerkez houses 246 stores and welcomes around 14 million visitors a year. Tenants span luxury and contemporary: Beymen, Vakko, Tiffany & Co., Tory Burch, Brunello Cucinelli, Loro Piana, MaxMara, Mango, Zara, COS and a wide selection of jewelry, beauty and Turkish designers. Dining options include Lokanta Maya, Günaydın steakhouse, House Café and several boutique cafés overlooking the central atrium, alongside a multiplex cinema.
Akmerkez sits in the heart of Etiler, ten minutes from Levent's M2 metro by taxi. The closest stations are Levent and 4. Levent; a free Akmerkez shuttle runs to Levent metro at peak hours. IETT bus lines 22, 22RE, 25E, 29C and 559C stop at the door. The complex has 1,400 paid parking spaces. From Taksim count on 15 minutes by taxi via the Barbaros Boulevard; from Istanbul Airport about 40 km.
