Attraction guide
Gülhane Park about what you should know.
Gülhane Park served as the outer garden of Topkapı Palace during the Ottoman period. It was opened to the public in 1912, becoming Istanbul's first major public park.
Its northern edge opens onto the Bosphorus, with panoramic views of the Sea of Marmara. Century-old plane trees, rose beds and tulip gardens (the April Tulip Festival) are its main attractions.
Inside the park you'll find the Museum of the History of Science and Technology in Islam and historic palace gateways such as Bab-ı Hümayun. A natural green stop before or after visiting Topkapı Palace.
