Maiden's Tower sits on a small islet at the southern entrance of the Bosphorus, about 200 metres off the Üsküdar shore. Various structures have stood here since the 5th century BC.
The current tower dates from the 18th century and has served as a customs post, lighthouse, quarantine station and restaurant. After the 2023 restoration it operates as a museum and café.
It is reached only by ferry — services run from Salacak (Üsküdar) on the Asian side and Kabataş on the European side.
