Attraction guide
Spice Bazaar about what you should know.
The Spice Bazaar was built in 1664 as part of the New Mosque (Yeni Cami) complex. Its name dates back to a period of brisk trade in goods imported from Egypt — especially spices.
Its 85 shops specialise in spices, Turkish delight, dried fruit, tea, cheese and honey. The bazaar sits right next to Galata Bridge and the Eminönü ferry piers.
An ideal stop before taking a ferry to Kadıköy or Üsküdar. The Grand Bazaar is just 800 metres away.
