Protection
How to protect yourself.
- 01Check that the taximeter starts from zero. If a fare is already loaded, get out.
- 02Pay in Turkish Lira when possible. If EUR/USD is accepted, clarify the exchange rate up front.
- 03Follow the route on your phone (Google Maps). If the driver deviates, say so.
- 04When paying cash, state the bill value out loud so a large note isn't swapped for a small one.
- 05If you're suspicious, photograph the license plate — you can report it on this page.
- 06Use the official airport taxi queue. Avoid anyone in the terminal asking 'taxi?'.
